Coating systems & practical support

The right finish.
For the job ahead.

What your parts are made from, where they will be used and how they need to perform all shape the coating choice. We help bring those decisions together.

Discuss your parts

01 / Choose the coating

Different powders.
Different possibilities.

Start with the role of the coating. We offer thermosetting and thermoplastic powders, with the formulation selected around the part and its intended use.

Decorative & protective finishes

Thermosetting powders

Colour, gloss and texture, with protective properties to suit the application. These powders form a permanently cured finish when heated.

Understand thermosetting powders

When heated, the powder melts and flows, then chemically cross-links. This reaction develops the coating’s properties and is irreversible: the cured film does not simply melt and flow again like a thermoplastic.

Performance varies with the formulation. Intended use and exposure guide selection, while preparation and the powder manufacturer’s specified curing conditions remain essential.

A different protective chemistry

Thermoplastic coatings

A protective layer formed by melting powder onto the part. Depending on the material, it can offer useful flexibility and resistance to impact, moisture or chemicals.

Understand thermoplastic coatings

Thermoplastic powders melt and flow, then solidify as they cool. They do not undergo the same irreversible cross-linking reaction as thermosetting powders and can soften again when sufficiently heated.

Properties depend on the specific material and application. We discuss operating conditions and handling requirements to establish whether a thermoplastic system suits your parts.

The finish starts before the powder. Preparation, application and heating must work together for the selected system.

02 / Build the protection

Protection beneath
the colour.

Some applications call for a coating system with additional corrosion protection. These options combine complementary layers, with preparation and compatibility considered together.

Primer + compatible topcoat

Zinc-rich primers

A corrosion-protection layer beneath the finish on suitably prepared steel. The primer and topcoat perform different jobs as part of one coating system.

How the primer adds protection

The primer’s zinc content can provide sacrificial protection for the steel. A compatible topcoat supplies the required appearance and surface properties.

Preparation, product compatibility, coating thickness and curing must work together. We discuss the primer and finish as a complete system for the part and its exposure.

Galvanising + powder coating

Duplex coatings

A powder-coated finish over galvanised steel. The zinc layer protects the steel, while the powder adds colour and a further protective barrier.

What a duplex system needs

The galvanised surface must be prepared for the powder coating to adhere. Its condition and any previous treatments affect the cleaning and preparation required.

Trapped gases may also need attention to avoid finish defects. Tell us when parts are galvanised so we can discuss a suitable system and preparation route.

03 / Keep your job moving

From your door.
Back to your business.

Collection and delivery on specified routes across Gauteng, for qualifying customers and loads.

Our own four-ton trucks connect coating jobs with their next destination. Share your addresses, part sizes, quantities and timing so we can confirm route eligibility and arrangements.

Organise the load

Palletisation

We can arrange palletisation around your parts and handling requirements. Let us know how the load will be moved and received so the arrangement suits its onward journey.

Protect the finish

Special packaging & wrapping

Additional packaging and wrapping help protect finished surfaces during handling and transport. Include any specific packing requirements when planning your job.
